Most of our guests base their holiday break around our superb fly-fishing. We also provide two other wonderful country pursuits - a unique hands-on falconry day, and some picturesque horse trekking in the Ashdown Forest. Further details below.

FISHING
Fly fishing is our specialty. If you want a fly fishing break in the UK, you've come to the right place.

We are surrounded by some of the best fly fishing in the south, and our choice of waters include the Duke of Northumberland's gin-clear stalking fishery at Chalk Springs, the beautiful reservoirs of Bewl and Powdermill, Roger Daltrey's fishery at Lakedown, and the UK's most famous big fish water, Dever Springs. If you've never caught a double figure trout, now's your chance!

This year we are proud to be able to offer the chance to fish on one of the world's most famous and exclusive chalk streams, the River Itchen. With very reasonable prices and a beautiful stretch of water, this is a unique opportunity to try the quintessential English fishing experience.

FALCONRY
A hands-on falconry experience is one of our most popular itinerary activities. We work closely with one of the UK's best loved falconers, Julian Ford, and we can arrange a private flying experience for our visitors, either in nearby Ashdown Forest, at Old Cottage, or at Julian's  birds of prey centre where over 70 birds are kept, including hawks, falcons, eagles, vultures, buzzards and owls.

We offer a range of falconry experiences, including hawk walks (a fascinating hands-on walk in the forest with Julian and a Harris Hawk), Owl sessions (hands-on and flying) and birds of prey displays with participation.

From November to March, we also offer an incredible and unique experience - hunting with hawks. Experience the medieval technique of hunting with birds of prey. We will take you to the beautiful Ashdown Forest for the day, where you will watch and take part in a centuries old tradition. We can't guarantee that the birds will catch you a pheasant supper, but it's a day that you will never forget.

RIDING
We are situated in the middle of wonderful riding countryside. Our most popular rides include a hack over the South Downs range of hills, and a beautiful and leisurely ride through the Ashdown Forest.
